AI Isn’t Just Changing Work
It's Collapsing an important layer of the organization. And few people are talking about it.
I was listening to some commentary recently from career expert Virginia “Ginny” Clarke, and she raised a side of the AI conversation that I don’t think we’re talking about nearly enough. We’re all familiar with the promise. AI streamlines the busywork, drives efficiency, and finally gives people more time to think strategically. And I believe that.
But Ginny talked about what happens on the other side of that efficiency. When AI takes on more of the research, analysis, and foundational work traditionally done by entry-level employees, we don’t just change those jobs. We potentially eliminate them. In other words, AI could collapse an entire layer of the organization. That really got me thinking.
